With a multi-cultural background and a wealth of experience in the European markets, Andreas “Andy” Hinterplattner started his career in the insurance industry having studied and graduated with an occupational degree for the field of insurance and liability coverage.
After spending a year living abroad in Santa Barbara, California in 1996, Andy returned back into the European culture and became involved with the automotive industry. In Vienna, Austria, he was fortunate enough to work for some very well known global automotive brands and learn from the best minds in Europe. Being mentored by these professionals at a young age was priceless for his development into management and customer relations.
Andy has experience with many international brands including Toyota, Lotus Cars, Volvo Cars, Mercedes Benz, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia.
As a football player for the Vienna Vikings he won four National Championships, two Junior Championships and appeared in nine Bowl Games. He was a long time player for the Austrian National Team and was nominated to the All-European 2nd Team in ’99.
Andy continued to develop his team skills and coaching abilities after retiring as a player in 2002 by becoming a defensive backs coach. As a coach he won three Euro Bowls, two European Championships, two National Championships and one Silver Bowl. He was the Defensive Coordinator for the Austrian Junior National Team and is currently the Defensive Backs Coach for the Austrian National Team.
His drive, ambition, intellect and pure passion for people, cars and football allowed him to accomplish both positions simultaneously over the last decade at a level few would handle.
In 2008, Andy and Amber were married and are currently living in Santa Barbara, but travel to Europe frequently to visit with clients, friends and family.
Andy continues to express gratitude to those who have mentored him through the first 30 years of his life.
